This recipe ist inspired by the streetfood in northern india, Momos, they are original from Nepal. And here is a freestyle version how you can create them in your home.
glutenfree, vegan, sugarfree
- Ingredients:
For the Dough:
250 g gluten-free flour mix (or spelt flour)
220 ml warm water
1 tsp oil
¼ tsp salt
Knead all the ingredients for the dough and let it rest for at least 1 hour.
- For the filling:
2 handfuls of vegetables, finely chopped (e.g. pointed cabbage, carrots, peppers, parsnips, etc.)
1 tsp curry - For the green chili dip:
1 bunch cilantro
6-8 leaves dandelion
1 cm ginger
1 small chili pepper, seeded
3-5 tablespoons sesame oil (or olive oil) - Salt
- 5-6 tbs. water
- Puree all ingredients.
- For the peanut sauce:
2 tbsp. peanut butter
2 tablespoons coconut flakes
1 cm ginger
juice of 1 lime
1/2 cup of water
Blend all ingredients well.
For the momos, form balls from the dough. Shape into a small bowl with your thumbs and fill in some vegetables.
Brush dough with a little water and fold momos closed.
Cook over hot steam in a sieve for 5-7 minutes. Serve with the sauces.
